The Casualist:  A relaxed arrangement with varying frame sizes and spacing for a laid-back vibe.  Commonly used with shelves to avoid multiple nail holes.

The Eccentric:  A mix of frames, artwork styles, and sizes for a diverse and eclectic gallery wall.

The Grid:  Symmetrical rows and columns of frames for a clean and structured look.

The Incline: Frames arranged diagonally or in a slanted manner for a dynamic and modern feel typically used on staircases.

Choosing & Buying Artwork

Transform your living space into a personalized haven with curated artwork that speaks to your soul. Incorporate family photos, cherished mementos, or DIY art for a unique touch that adds character and warmth to your home. When it comes to buying artwork, explore a plethora of options from online platforms like Etsy, Shutterfly, and Snapfish.  Not only do these platforms provide tons of printable artwork, but they also provide the option to design your own photo grids online by dropping, dragging, or importing photos from your desk-top or mobile device.

Alternatively, immerse yourself in the local art scene by visiting galleries, art fairs, and exhibitions for unique and original pieces. For budget-friendly yet unique finds, delve into thrift stores, flea markets, and antique shops. If you're seeking something truly one-of-a-kind, consider commissioning custom artwork from local artists or online platforms to add a personalized touch to your gallery wall.

Easiest Way to Arrange & Hang the Gallery Wall

  1. Trace and Cut: Trace the outline of each frame onto parchment paper sheets and cut out each shape.
  2. Arrange on Wall: Arrange the cutouts on the wall to mirror your desired gallery format, experimenting with spacing and alignment.
  3. Secure with Tape: Secure the parchment paper cutouts to the wall using painter’s tape or removable adhesive strips.
  4. Hang Frames: Hold each frame over its corresponding parchment paper cutout, ensuring proper alignment and spacing.
  5. Using a laser-level can really help insure that all of your pictures are spot on.
  6. On the back of each frame, measure the space between the top of the photo and the nail hanger.  Then measure the same space and mark it on your parchment paper.  This will give you a guide for where to place your nails.
  7. Use Command Strips: For renters or those avoiding wall damage, use Command Strips to hang frames securely without nails or screws.

Conclusion

With these tips and techniques, creating a stylish gallery wall in your home is within reach. Whether you prefer a casual, eclectic vibe or a structured and polished look, you can curate a gallery wall that reflects your unique style and personality. Let your creativity shine and enjoy transforming your space into an artful masterpiece!
